I provide Parent Coordinating services to clients referred by the courts.
My years of family counseling experience, extensive work with domestic violence, and solid child and teen counseling
skills provide your family with the support required by the Courts.
What is Parent Coordinating?
Parenting Coordinating refers to the court appointment of a trained therapist to assist families
in high conflict family law matters. A judge or a Guardian Ad Litem may refer or require a family for parent coordinating.
My role in such a case is to meet with family
members in order to guide them to make decisions that are in the best interest of their children. Specifically, a parent
coordinator will work with parents and children to:
- Identify disputed issues
- Reduce misunderstandings
- Decide and understand common priorities
- Problem
solve to reach solutions
- Practice co-parenting skills
- Agree on parenting plans
- Comply with court's
orders
I can help your family to reach these goals by (1) helping
you to be heard by your spouse/ex-spouse; (2) helping you to prioritize what is best for the children; (3) increasing your
own self-awareness of reasons the challenges exist; and (4) practicing effective problem solving and stress reduction for
the benefit of you and your children.
My experience includes leading Family Violence Prevention groups at LifeWorks for several years.
With that experience gained a deep understanding of family dynamics and effective interventions to decrease family stress
and increase family coping skills - even after divorce.
